Stroll beautiful Park Avenue and enjoy the cheerful sight of lights sparkling on buildings, tree branches, bushes, and the light poles at major intersections. This evening of free entertainment, seasonal fun, and "open house" hospitality at more than 70 Park Avenue businesses is the perfect time to visit your favorite spots along this wonderful street while making a few new discoveries.

Outdoor festivities throughout the evening from Alexander Street to Culver Road include performances of holiday music, horse-drawn wagon rides, hot roasted chestnuts, holiday characters with candy cane treats, and so much more. It's a great way to begin your holiday season!

Opening Ceremony at 5:00 PM
The magic begins with an opening ceremony in the Park Avenue Green at Barrington Street with the Lighting of the Christmas Tree and Menorah. Blessed Sacrament Contemporary Ensemble will perform. Holy Childhood will be presented with a holiday donation from Park Avenue Merchants and Neighborhood Associations. Santa Claus arrives by a horse-drawn wagon to join Mayor Richards to light the Christmas tree before greeting guests at Candy Cane Chalet at 600 Park Avenue, compliments of The Pepsi Cola Bottling Group.

Visit Santa from 5:30 - 9:00 PM
You can visit Santa following the opening ceremony until 9:00 PM at 600 Park Avenue. Santa's Candy Cane Chalet is a warm spot for children to gather with activities sponsored by WARM-101.3. Pick up your complimentary glow stick or glow necklace from PAMA and candy cane from Stever's Candies. $2.00 photos with Santa to Benefit the Rochester City School District - Media Arts Club.

Horse-drawn wagon rides
Enjoy the view while riding along Park Avenue! Purchase tickets (on the wagons) and board the wagons at the following locations:
• Board at Kirkhaven (across from 54 Park Ave.)/off at Rutgers Street
• Board at 403 Park Ave. near Rutgers Street/off at Brunswick
• Board at Brunswick (Immanuel Baptist)/off at Vick Park A
• Board at Vick Park A/off at Kirkhaven (across from 54 Park Avenue)
  ($1 per person/per half-mile ride).

Candy Cane Way
Between Barrington and Edgerton from 5:30-8:30 PM. Look for costumed characters such as: Snowman, Reindeer, Bears, Tiger etc., all along the avenue you will also find a clown and Rochester team mascots.

Hospitality Area
Santa tent is at 600 Park Avenue. WARM - 101.3 will provide activities for children, including Raggedy Ann with Balloons.

PARKING
Park Avenue will NOT be closed
to traffic during this event. Parking areas along the street will be accessible including at curb-side, surface lots, and the nearby 7-Eleven Plaza (Formerly Wilson Farms), Asbury First United Methodist Church (1050 East Avenue), Bank of America, and along East Avenue (after 6:00 PM). Please pay careful attention to all posted alternate-side parking restrictions on side streets. Please be cautious and responsible when parking curb-side, in parking lots or on side streets. All posted laws will apply!

A variety of foods, enough to satisfy any craving-Cajun specialties, Spicy Caribbean chicken, fish and chips, steamed clams, chicken Caesar salad roll-ups, Portobello mushroom sandwiches, crepes, candied nuts, bloomin' onions, lime rickeys, jambalaya, fried dough, giant turkey drumsticks, soft pretzels, Italian ices, espresso, strawberry shortcake and more! As always, the Park Avenue Summer Art Fest is a nonalcoholic event-The City's open container law will be enforced.


Directions
The Park Ave Summer Art Fest runs along Park Avenue from Alexander Street to Culver Road. Between these two streets Park Avenue is closed to traffic from 9am until 7pm on Saturday and from 9am until 6pm on Sunday.  The closest exits to the festival are Culver Road (Exit 19) or Goodman Street (Exit 17) off 490.

Parking
Along the neighborhood side streets, one-side parking will be allowed during the duration of the festival. PLEASE READ SIGNS CAREFULLY TO AVOID BEING TICKETED OR TOWED. These fill up quite early, so you may be better off to choose one of the FREE PARKING LOTS.

Free parking is available at Monroe Square on Monroe Ave near Union Street and the other at Gleason Works at 1000 University Ave (enter lot from Elton Street). $5 parking for festival-goers (not artists & exhibitors) is available behind Talmudical Institute at corner of Brunswick Street and Park Ave, one block west of Culver Road. Enter lot from south side of Park Ave. There is also limited HANDICAP ONLY parking in Parkleigh lot on corner of Goodman Street and Park Ave.  Enter lot from south side of Park Ave.

Shuttles
Shuttles from Monroe Square drop off at Park and Alexander (west end of show). Shuttles from Gleason Works drop off at Park and Culver (east end of show). Both shuttles make an intermediate stop at East Ave. and Oxford Street for those who do not wish to walk the entire festival or to allow transfer from the Alexander/Monroe Square shuttle to the Culver/Gleason Works shuttle or vice versa.

There is a $1 round-trip charge for the shuttle.

Handicap Access
One shuttle on each route is handicapped accessible. In addition, there is limited handicapped parking at Parkleigh at the corner of Goodman Street and Park Avenue.

More than 60 musical entertainment groups performing on a variety of stages and performance areas: gospel, funky Caribbean rhythms, jazz, rhythm and blues, acoustic music, and more.

Musical entertainment suitable for people of all ages will be featured at a newer, larger stage at the Village Market located at 7-Eleven (Formerly Wilson Farms) opposite Vassar St.

Pelican's Peak, a giant inflated climbing mountain; Climbing Rock sponsored by Rock Ventures, a 25-foot high rock for older kids to climb; and Castle Bounce and Balloon Chase for younger kids.

Rochester Museum and Science Center offers supervised, interactive and educational kids' activities on the Museum's campus.

At Arnold Park:
